Guiding New Home Buyers to Home Ownership Without the Stress
Building or buying a home is one of the most important lifestyle and financial decisions most people will make, yet because it's not a daily decision, many first-time home buyers are in the dark on critical choices that may affect their overall satisfaction. The Certified Professional Home Builder Program wants home buying to be a positive experience for everyone and is committed to helping buyers through the process. So, the CPHB hosts a free class to better educate and guide today's first time new home buyer through the entire process of buying or building a new home.

Potential buyers will gain knowledge from industry leaders explaining the builder selection process, contracts and warranties, and the importance of shopping the market. Our program gives the home buyer some background and education that will not only make it an easier process but also an enjoyable one.

What You Will Learn
This class will merge the talent of industry experts with the needs of potential home owners. The two-hour class will feature industry professionals' expertise about home buying factors such as:

  • leaving your emotions out of the buying process
  • choosing a builder
  • communicating with your builder and real estate professional
  • contracts
  • construction and inspection process
  • things to know before you close
  • taking ownership of your home
Although the Academy is free, those interested are required to register to attend. All Academy attendees will be offered the Homeowner Handbook, a step-by-step book that gives guidelines to care and maintain new homes, at a discounted rate. The CPHB encourages all potential new home buyers to attend one of these classes to learn about the building process. For more information or to register for the next class, please call 678-775-1471 or e-mail consumer@atlantahomebuilders.com.

    CPHB Orientation

To have a successful business, perception can either be your greatest ally or biggest obstacle. The Atlanta real estate market is the largest in the state, and more than ever before, consumers are doing their own research and are better prepared to make one of the biggest investments of their lives as they build their American dreams. As consumer accessibility increases, it is imperative for your company’s image to be as carefully crafted as the homes you build. Consumers need to associate the quality and professionalism of your company’s name with the quality and professionalism in the homes you build.  In response to concerns raised by builders, The Housing Institute, Inc. (THI) recognized the need to develop a vehicle within the home building industry that would recognize, enhance and promote the professionalism of home builders.

It was with this need in mind that the Certified Professional Home Builder (CPHB) program was created. One of the greatest benefits of the CPHB program to its membership is the ability to market yourself and your company as a Certified Professional Home Builder. THI has received enormous response to the CPHB program, fielding more than 100 consumer calls a month looking for qualified builders. When the builder licensing law goes into effect on July 1, 2008, consumers are sure to look for more than a licensed builder,  builders who are dedicated to the highest level of professionalism, customer service and homeowner satisfaction- a CPHB.

In the two-hour program orientation, the benefits of the CPHB program will be reviewed, as well as the initial application process and yearly renewal requirements. Orientation classes begin with 8:00 am and go until 10:00 a.m.
